Determination of Seismic Performance Factors for Buildings with Concentrically Braced Frame Systems under the Excitation of Near- and Far-fault Records

Performance coefficients are widely used in seismic design codes to achieve performance objectives. The values of these have significant importance achieving pre-specified goals. Studies shown that near-fault earthquakes decrease the ductility and increase risk failure structures; however, current use same structures against near- far-fault records. In present study, 1-, 5-, 10- 15-story special concentrically braced frame (SCBF) designed region with high hazard been evaluated. Non-linear static, linear dynamic, incremental non-linear dynamic analyses under influence two sets records extracted from FEMA-P695 calculate coefficients. Furthermore, fragility curves calculated for three levels (IO, LS, CP) using a probabilistic assessment results derived analysis investigate relationship between obtained factors probability exceedance specified level. According mean all records, behavior factor steel is 5.92. 35% less than Differences excitation types earthquake (near- far-fault) observed related CP However, there no correlation resulted exceeding IO LS levels.
